Wolfskald – Chasin Solitude

Wolfskald - Chasin Solitude

Wolfskald leans into isolation and self-reflection with Chasin Solitude, a short track that fits the darker folk and cinematic side of the artist’s catalogue.

Chasin Solitude sounds like deliberately looking for somewhere away from people, noise, and expectations. There are times when being alone is not loneliness at all. You simply need space to think, recover, or hear your own thoughts without somebody else filling the silence.

The music sits between folk and the cinematic Nordic sound associated with Wolfskald. The arrangement is compact, running for just 2:29, so it does not spend too long getting to its point. The rhythm and atmosphere do most of the talking, while the vocal presence feels suited to the solitary mood of the title. Wolfskald describes the project as being shaped by traditional folk melodies, deep voices, powerful rhythms, and ancient instruments, with a strong Nordic atmosphere behind the music.

What I find interesting about the title is the word “chasin’”. Solitude is usually something people fall into when they have been left alone, but chasing it is a choice. That changes the feeling completely. It makes the song less about being abandoned and more about wanting distance from everything for a while.

Chasin’Solitude appeared as a Wolfskald single and is also listed in the artist’s catalogue alongside the wider folk and Nordic material.

Sometimes you do not need company, advice or another conversation. You just need a quiet place where your head can settle. That is the space this title naturally points towards.
