BNXN – Eja Meja Ft. Asake

Bnxn Eja Meja Ft Asake

BNXN joins forces with Asake on Eja Meja, opening with an energetic bounce that immediately sets the tone before either artist settles fully into the record.

Eja Meja, a Yoruba expression that translates to “two fish,” can be understood as having two valuable things at once or finding yourself in a situation with more than one attractive option. That playful idea carries into the music. The Afrobeats production is built on rolling log drums, layered chants, and a bassline that keeps the rhythm moving without becoming overwhelming.

BNXN leans into smooth melodic phrases, while Asake answers with his unmistakable vocal style, adding texture and urgency. The beat leaves enough space for both voices, so the collaboration feels balanced instead of sounding like two separate performances stitched together.

Bringing Asake into the record adds another familiar Nigerian voice, and their different approaches create enough contrast to keep the arrangement lively from beginning to end.

One of the most enjoyable parts of the record is how naturally the artists trade moments without interrupting the flow. It works best in lively settings where its rhythm can breathe, but even on a solo listen, the chemistry between both performers remains the first thing you remember.
