Kodak Black – Imma Shoot

Kodak Black - Imma Shoot

Florida rapper Kodak Black goes into aggressive territory on Imma Shoot, a Hip Hop record built around street pressure, retaliation and the constant threat that comes with living in a hostile environment.

The title is deliberately blunt. “Imma Shoot” leaves little room for interpretation, and the record follows that same direct approach. Kodak raps from a tense perspective where distrust, violence, and loyalty to his circle are constantly competing for attention.

The production gives him plenty of room to sound uneasy and unpredictable. The beat carries a dark, heavy atmosphere, with hard drums underneath a repetitive vocal refrain that keeps returning to the central threat. Kodak’s delivery moves between clipped lines and a more animated attack, giving the verses a restless quality. One detail that works particularly well is the contrast between the almost chant-like hook and the much denser verses, which makes the record feel increasingly claustrophobic as it progresses.

Released in August 2025 through Vulture Love and Capitol Records, the track later appeared on Kodak Black’s Just Getting Started album in October. The song runs for 3:26 and was produced by Dyryk, RBP, Ben Heet, MIA JayC, and casozworld.

There is no attempt to soften the subject matter here. Imma Shoot works as a raw piece of street rap, with Kodak leaning fully into the paranoia and confrontation that shape its writing. It will sit better with listeners who come to his music for that unfiltered, darker side of his sound.
