The title is tied to trouble, and that idea becomes clearer when you listen to the way Mayorkun talks about money running low and the need to keep working. There is a familiar Nigerian reality underneath the playful lines: things may not always be going smoothly, but you still have to find a way forward. He brings that conversation into his usual melodic space, moving between sung phrases and a more talkative delivery that gives the record plenty of personality.
The production sits firmly in Afrobeats, with a 114 BPM tempo and a Gb major key. The beat keeps enough bounce underneath Mayorkun’s vocals for the record to feel active, while the arrangement leaves room for his wordplay to do much of the work. One detail I enjoyed is how quickly he can move from money pressure to jokes and confidence without making the song feel disconnected.
