Ragal Ironbull – RAVENHEART

Ragal Ironbull - RAVENHEART

Ragal Ironbull returns to his Viking-inspired sound with RAVENHEART, a dark folk record built around images of ravens, battle, loyalty, and the hard side of northern mythology.

The title itself says plenty. A raven has long been associated with watching, warning and death in Norse stories, while the word “heart” brings the idea back to the person carrying all that weight. Put together, RAVENHEART sounds like someone who has seen difficult things and still has enough strength to keep going.

The music fits the world Ragal Ironbull has been building across his catalogue. His releases regularly lean into Viking and Nordic imagery, with titles such as VALHALLA CALLING, VIKING VIBES, RAGNAROK RISE, LEGEND OF THE NORTH and Crown of Wolves. RAVENHEART was released as a single in August 2026.

What I find interesting is that the title is not simply about the raven. The heart changes the picture. It makes the song feel more personal, as if all those northern images are being used to describe someone’s character. You can hear the difference between music that is only trying to sound powerful and music that is built around a particular world. Ragal Ironbull clearly belongs to the latter camp.
