Magnito brings Teni and Jeriq into the picture on Canada (The Headies Remix), revisiting his well-known record with a new combination of Nigerian voices and the familiar ambition behind the original.
Canada (The Headies Remix) plays with the idea of Canada as a symbol of money, opportunity, enjoyment and the better life many young Nigerians dream about. The original record turned that idea into playful rap, mixing boasts, jokes and everyday Nigerian references instead of treating the subject like a serious immigration story. The track sits firmly in Nigerian hip hop, with Magnito’s conversational rap style giving the writing its humour and personality, while the remix format creates room for the featured artists to add their own character.
The original “Canada” appeared on Magnito’s 2023 album I Am Dodo with Snr Morris and Wizzy Flon, before the Olamide and Wizzy Flon remix arrived on October 11, 2023. That version was released through MYAIRPLAY for Big E Music, YBNL Nation, and EMPIRE, and was produced and mixed by Spane5.
The Headies connection gives the title another layer because Magnito performed “Canada” at the 17th Headies ceremony in 2025. The song’s humour is still its strongest quality: underneath all the talk about Canada is a very Nigerian conversation about wanting more from life, having money to enjoy yourself, and turning ambition into something you can actually see.
