Vyroota brings his Ugandan Afro-Beat sound to Calm Down, a title that speaks to the need for patience when emotions rise and a situation starts becoming harder to handle.
Calm Down is a phrase people use when a conversation has gone too far, a disagreement is getting heated, or somebody needs a moment to breathe before saying something they may regret. It can also come from someone who cares and wants to stop another person from carrying unnecessary anger. Vyroota’s music draws from Afrobeat, dancehall, reggae and R&B pop, with melodic vocals and modern East African production forming part of his sound.
Vyroota is a Ugandan recording artist from Kireka, Uganda, and his catalogue includes songs such as “Kunsi,” “Tanimba,” “Energy,” “Maria” and “Thank You, Lord.” His latest listed release is the 2026 single Toma, which also includes an instrumental and acapella version.
What makes the title relatable is how often people need that reminder but do not always take it themselves. Sometimes walking away for a few minutes is better than forcing an argument to continue. The words are simple, but the situation behind them is something almost everybody understands.
